Based on the original story written by Kazunori Ito known for his famous work "Ghost in the Shell".
Ayumu is a junior high school student who has trouble associating with others and refuses to go to school. His parents are divorced and his father works as a veterinarian in a small town in the countryside where he is to spend his summer vacation. Ayumu was starting to regret coming to such a boring town as soon as he arrived.
However, he soon realized he was totally wrong!
One day, Ayumu meets a strange boy, Wakkun, who wears rubber boots and a poncho. More amazingly, he starts to see a mysterious creature that flits about by radiating light like a firefly.
From then on, serval surpising incidents begin to happen around Ayumu, as he gradually starts to interact with people again.
A strange yet heartwarming summer was about to start...
